as it was

There are 300 unread posts in my feeder, and I feel like I am missimg out on everything that is going on. I don’t want to be out of touch with you.

This is the reason why Im not writing, reading or spending time with you. This is the town house” we bought (or “rekkehus” for my Norwegian readers, which literary means “house in a row”). This is how our new and modest 98 square metres (or 1054 ft² and 124.3 in²) house looked like when we bought it in January

And this is pretty much how it looks like know.

We are tearing down walls, taking down all the electric installations, and shaking up old dust.

And opening up between the hallway, kitchen and livingroom

I am terrified. What have we gotten ourselves into?

  3. It can be terrifying when it's at its worst, but it will slowly get better; and then you'll love it.

  5. Oh, you have been busy with the good stuff! Tearing down a house and making it into a home is indeed terrifying and daunting but you shall reap the results. What a wonderful place you have and I cannot wait to see what magic you cook up!
    Good luck.

  13. Hi Ann Marie,

Remodeling can be extremely stressful and messy. But, in the end, it will be what you want. Here in the States we are thinking of you all in Norway and it has been on the news every night as we are all so shocked and saddened at the terrible recent events. I hope that you and your family are safe with all that is going on in Oslo and wish you would post to let us know that you are alright.

  14. Hello! I hope that you have had a busy summer and are all safe and well. How is the house? Mine is coming on slowly - the kitchen units are all installed, the electrics all rewired, the hall, living room and main bedroom painted....slow progress....I am having a good summer, although the weather is bad, looking forward to a week in the south of France where I hope that the sun shines!!

  15. I dream of a house of my own that I can make truly mine, but I know that renovation works can be ... terrifying! Judging from your most recent posts, though, it looks like you did very well.
