Fikk laget to bordbrikker.

This weekend I have been sewing on a borrowed machine. Thank God for good friends. I have found out that I can live without sewing machines but never without friends. And when I am as fortunate as to have good friends with sewing machines the happiness is complete.

Since I came home from Gothenburg my fingers have been itching to use the fabrics I bought there. Even if I love pink I have never been a rose-person. However, this rose fabric I fell in love with and ended up making two coasters with it. I hand sew some simple stitches following the pattern to emphasize it. On the back I used the white cotton fabric with squared texure. Now I can enjoy my english breakfast tea quite sophistically.

Some people probably think it is tragical, but I love to look for textile shops while on vacation. The possibility of finding a special kind of fabric that I have been searching for or to discover a fabric I didn't know I wanted, but that I fall in love with on the spot. If I in addition find a butten-shop you can be sure that the vacation budget exceeds all limits. This is some of the fabrics I found (and bought) while in Gothenburg.

I have been looking for tweed like this since I "discovered" tweed on moonstitches blog. After inspiration from moonstitches and 6.5st, this fall as soon as I have bought myself a sewing machine and have moved into a new appartment (did you notice in which order that came...) I will make one.

This two fabrics fall into the category " I didn't know I wanted them but fell in love on the spot". I have no clue what to make of them, but I know I will have to use them in a small project soon. I simply cannot stop touching the white one.

These two flannel's are ment to be used for the back of two baby quilts that have been written down on my "to do list". They are incredibly soft!

These fabrics are to me tipically Swedish and alsoNorwegian. They remind me of summer, kithcen and cosy homes.

Alltid like spennende å møte mennesker fra rundt omkring i hele verden.

This week I were in Gothenburg on a big conference in relation with my job. It's always exciting to meet people from around the world. The trip to Gothenburg was also a good opportunity to get to know my new colleagues better. After two weeks in this job I love both my colleagues and my work tasks. I couldn't have been luckier!

The absolutely best gastronomical experience we had in Gothenburg was at the restaurant Fiskekrogen. It's been a long time since I have eaten such a good food, drunken such a good vine(s) and received such a good service. I am definately going back - I recommend it!

Godt å være hjemme - Good to be home

I am home for the weekend. After ten days away from my man, it is good to be home.

Imagine my excitement when I found out that I had two packages waiting for me in the post office! One was with books I have ordered from Yes Asia. I finally received the Idées book number 5. This series is my absolute favourite among the Japanese craft books. I find them so inspiring and I never get tired of them no matter how many times I watch through them. I´ve posted some other craft books I have too.

The slippers book has different types of basic patterns. The details are up to each and everyone.

The second package was with fabrics from eBay. A nice stash of wonderful fairy tale fabric! I have thousands of projects in my head and on my “as soon as I get the time I will do”-list. Some of this fabric will be used for a fairy tale quilt that I want to make for my future children. I have this idea about reading books to them while we lay either under or on top of the quilt. I hope they will grow to enjoy books as much as I did when I was a little girl.

I love this little red riding hood fabric on dotted backround.

Today came the internet man...

12 dager uten internett "hjemme".

12 days without internet at home". That's a new record and a test f my patience. The forth of June I began a new job in Oslo. We don't have a place of our own to live in yet so I am currently living in a student house together with three others. I had forgotten how social and fun it can be to live together with so many people... At least for a short period of time.

I am also without a sewing machine so I haven't been able to work on the baby quilt for my friend Raquel. Instead I have worked some more on the Franck Sorbier "echarpe", which you can see a photo of
here. The work is progressing slowly but steady. Hopefully I will manage to fiit nsih during the summer so that I can use it before the autumn and winter comes.

At the same time as I am in Oslo we are trying to sell our apartment in Ålesund. I promised I was going to share the photos that the photographer took of the apartment as soon as we got them, so if you want to you can see them here. There has already been a "showing" of the apartment and there will be a second one Saturday. This weekend I will be back with my hubby. I can't wait.

We have been packing and cleaning for a week now, and the last 48 hours have been really intense. Our real-state man was here on Wednesday telling us which changes and improvements we need to do in the apartment before we put it for sale. Vi have made a “painting” to put over our bed (with wall-paper), we bought frames for the posters in the bed room and bath room, and we bought a mirror for the entrance. But the biggest job of them all was the tidying and cleaning of the apartment. Our place has never been so tidy and clean as it is now. Today the photographer came and everything had to be in tiptop shape. And it was. I am exhausted, but happy. The worst part is over. Now we just have to cross our fingers and hope that someone falls in love with the apartment and gives us a big fat offer. We need the money ;-)

The photo posted here has been taken by me and is of my favourit chair (and corner of the house). I'll show you the photos the photographer took as soon as we get them.
