Møbler og flyttelass - Furniture and boxes

Last Thursday our furniture and boxes filled with all our things arrived at our new flat. We have been living for two months in a 68m2 flat with a refrigerator, a kitchen stove and two “folding beds” from IKEA. As you can imagine, we have been longing to get our things, and to put everything in its right place. But after living in a spacious empty flat for two months with lots of air, it feels like all the furniture and boxes are cramping up the space, taking away air to breathe and it is putting us in a bad mood.

As you know I was planning on finishing up my new project (wool & monkey) rather quickly. Now it is not likely to happen as soon as I had hoped for. Instead I have to empty card board boxes. As opposed to most of my friends I do not (!) enjoy undoing boxes. So far I have managed to undo about 4 boxes a day, but it seems to never end. I have filled up three boxes with things that can be recycled (very proud of myself) and promised myself that I shall think twice (and three, four and five times) before I buy anything for the next three years (except for when it comes to fabrics…of course). So dear you send me some positive “unpacking boxes” energy which I need badly, so that I can finish this boring task and continue with my sewing project as soon as possible!?!!

  1. Hi Anne Marie! Sorry I left it so long to comment, because I did intend to. And I have been sending you positive energy for unpacking boxes! :) I hope it's been going well, so frustrating to have everything packed away. I too like the open, empty feeling before though! Looking forward to seeing some pictures of the place when you're all set and to see how your project has been going.

  3. At one time in my life I moved house 4 times in 3 years and I was an expert at packing and unpacking - now I have been in my flat for 4 years and accumulated a lot of junk! On Wednesday my new sofa arrives and I had to throw out the old sofa and armchairs today and then work out where to put the 2 boxes of wool that used to live behind the enormous armchair......I have no storage space......this is a problem! I guess I will just have to make something for you as part of the pay it forward exchange!!

Hope all the packing doesn't get too tiresome as I am keen to see what you will make with the wool and monkey!!
