moments in Yonder

Perhaps you have felt it… The feeling you get when you take a tour in blogland and see all the wonderful things that everyone else are doing… all the super duper women that just seem to do everything and do it perfect.

Some days it becomes overwhelming. Some days I need to take a minute and tell myself that everyone does not do everything at the same time. Some paint and draw, some sew, some knit, some bake, some decorate their house and some scrap. Seldom do they do all this at a time (although I have seen some that do).

So when I read Amy’s post “The trouble with Martha” I laughed with relief. She has pin pointed it…and she does it so well that next time I get the “oh my gosh I wish I could be as perfect as everyone else” feeling, I’ll just stop by that post and read it again until my heart starts beating in a normal relaxed rhythm.
In the spirit of moments I’m posting photos of moments that make up life in Yonder. These are photos of every day life imperfections – perfection the Yonder way.

  1. Hello!! I agree, there are so many people out there who do it all! But hey, if it's anything like me all I post is the good stuff! The rest of life stays in the background! I love all your work and today's photos....are beautiful!

  2. Akkurat sånn er det, sånn er livet. Hverdagen er et undervurdert ord.

  3. Hey, am looking at your shining floors and thinking, why can't my floors be that clean and shiny? There is always a trade off that happens when we choose to do one thing over the other, but the bottom line is whether your choices make your happier or not. Your moments are perfectly normal in every way!

  4. Oh Lucy, please know that I don't do anything to have my floors shiny. I think it is the kind of wood or type of floor that makes it shiny...next time I'll show you all the dust laying around in the corners ;-)

  10. I like this post. Sometimes when I take a photo here at the house fo the blog, I look at the messy behind me and think.. well Sarah this photo is not true.. show the behind the scenes. I think blogs capture the beauty in everyday for sure, our "best" but when we put out the messy that is when we all can "really" relate and appreciate the true art of living life.

  11. I'm there too. Some days run smoothly, then there are lots of days that go by unnoticed, when not much gets done...and certainly not blogging! I was actually thinking of having a post yesterday including heaps of laundry and giant messes around my house, but I didn't have time. Happy Thanksgiving!

  12. Who is Amy and where is her post? I think I need a dose of that for my heart, too.
Thank you for being real. It is good for my soul (and yours, too, I am sure!)
