Left over stripes

Summer is over. Although temperatures in Oslo still are summerish I have begun planning knitting projects for this fall. Some are already on the needles, others are still just in my head.

This sweater however, was knitted last fall from different left over alpaca yarn, on 2.5mm needles, (details in Ravelry). He has grown out of his sweater by now, but still loves to cuddle with it now and again. By the way, look at how his hair colour has changed since then.

I am back to regular posting, and looking forward to share my creative endeavors with you throughout fall and winter. I am also looking forward to all the beautiful things you share and the inspiration that comes with it. Warm hugs to you all.

Beach living

After our days in Barcelona, we drove up to Costa Brava where we spent lazy beach days. Dipping in the water, scuba diving, playing Uno in the shade of the Parasol, strolling along the beach walk and taking in all the beautiful scenery...

Family days in Barcelona

We spent ten days in Barcelona with my family in law. Astrid struggled with speaking Spanish and not being able to express herself, as she wanted.

Luckily, you can do many activities without words, which still says a million things.

Like playing “La Oca” (the Goose) with iaia (grandmother in Catalan)

Like learning how to make orange juice

Like playing at the playground with her cousin Martina...

...and eating watermelon

Like watching her little brother bond with iaio (grandfather in Catalan)

and like playing cards in the park with her friend Ariadna

Lingering on

I never got past the first chapter of this book (but I want to, love it so far!) and the glass with Martini was emptied many, many days ago. But. I loved that moment! Mr. Yonder and the kids were at the pool and I had a whole half hour by myself with nothing else to do but read, and listen to the ice cubes move around in the glass every time I took a zip.

After three and a half wonderful weeks in Spain, I am now back to work. Transition back to everyday life is hard. I am simply not ready to let go of summer yet. Therefore, the rest of this month I will keep on to summer by sharing vacation photos with you.

How was your summer? What was your special moment?

PS: I’ll be back to regular posting in September.

Summer house

Our last stop during our mid vest-coast tour was visiting my father. This is the summerhouse where I spent many summer-, winter-, and Easter vacations as we grew up.

We were less fortunate with the weather while hear so the one time the sun came out we ran out and played with water (again, I know!).

Finally, they put the water guns aside and chose to play with Frisbees a slightly more peaceful activity.

Where did that Frisbee land?
